During a recent interview with Univision (see video below), GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich talked about his support for a pathway to citizenship (read amnesty) for illegal aliens that have been in the United States for a number of years and have contributed to our society. Mr. Gingrich went on to ridicule and demean the more enforcement oriented positions of his opponents – mainly Mitt Romney’s – showing how out of touch the former Speaker is with the rest of the American electorate.
Finally, candidate Gingrich touted his important work and support for the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), viewed by many open border advocates as one of the greatest pieces of legislation to be signed into law over the past 40 years. Mr. Gingrich, who at one point in his career was a history professor, would do well to review what has happened since this law was passed. IRCA, which was supposed to tightly secure our borders and implement internal enforcement measures in exchange for amnesty for about 3 million illegal aliens, was a failure from an enforcement perspective. The lack of enforcement has now resulted in about 12 million illegal aliens taking up residence in the U.S., with thousands more crossing the border each month.
I have a great article for Mr. Gingrich (who repeatedly invokes the name of Ronald Reagan on the campaign trail) to read before he continues down the road of ‘I was instrumental in passing IRCA’ – it’s an op-ed by former Reagan Attorney General Ed Meese titled “Reagan Would Not Repeat Amnesty Mistake” and the title itself doesn’t leave much to the imagination.
If Mr. Gingrich thinks that pandering an issue as large as immigration is a political winner, he should have a quick chat with Rick Perry and see how that approach worked for him.

That is the reason I will not vote for Newt if he is the Republican candidate, I will not give my vote to Obama under any circumstances, but I will rather waste my vote, than give it to Newt. I will say to him, that if this people came in illegally, breaking our immigration laws, they don’t deserve a break now, that is a slap in the face to all of us that immigrated here legally, waited in a real line at our countries of origin and waited to do things right. As to Jorge Ramos of Univision, he is the biggest racist I have ever known, he is pro illegal immigration, pro making Spanish the second language, if not the first, in America, and judging by the way he talks, I think he favors the Aztlan movement and the reconquista.

True to form, she said it was illegal to make employers e-verify citizen status of new hires.
Interesting, she says a state cannot force employers to check if employees they are hiring are illegal. Thankfully the court ruled 5-3 supporting law. But now we know for sure just how extreme far left Obama’s choice was. We cannot afford Obama to get another term, or you can bet this country will be overrun by illegals. I don’t want this country to be poor and corrupt like Mexico, which it will if illegals overrun the country.

By having US taxpayers support their anchor brats in our schools from K-12…by having US taxpayers pay for their free health care from birth to age 18…please…you call that valuable…I call it sickening. Mr. Gringrich is absolutely right in one area; a grandma ought to be close to her children and grandchildren. Additionally, yes, there ought to be a path to citizenship for immigrants regardless of status who contribute to our society. The immigrants that are here paying taxes, fluent in the language, pursuing education, creating businesses, volunteering in our communities, and are married to U.S. Citizen spouses and have U.S. citizen children are already contributing members of our society. They have proven their value. It does not make sense to waste such talent to other countries. If we deport them, other countries will benefit from our investment. This is not a sound investment strategy.
What “Amnesty Newt ” fails to realize is that since Simpson-Mazzoli, 26 years ago is that IRCA has never been fully enforced. His view’s of creating another Amnesty to finally enforce the promise of IRCA to eliminate illegal immigration is nothing short of ludicrous.
