Ever since GOP presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney voiced support for the concept of attrition through enforcement as the most effective means of dealing with mass illegal immigration, the American public has heard its share of snickers, chuckles, guffaws, giggles and assorted other expressions of derision. Gov. Romney’s opponents, the media, pundits, and Comedy Central anchors have joined in the laugh-fest.
But guess who isn’t joining in the mirth? The professional advocates for illegal immigration find nothing humorous about the concept of attrition through enforcement. Attrition through enforcement, an idea that FAIR and other immigration reform organizations have been espousing for years, posits that if you remove the incentives that draw illegal aliens to this country and make it clear that our immigration laws will be enforced, many will respond rationally and leave on their own.
The illegal alien advocates who participated in a telephonic news conference on February 6 – including the Immigration Policy Center, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Southern Poverty Law Center, among others – see attrition through enforcement as a serious threat to their dream of mass amnesty and even more massive immigration. They have very good reason to be concerned. As FAIR noted last month, attrition through enforcement works – and for the illegal alien advocates that’s no joking matter.

I was not on board regarding immergration reform and illegal aliens taking jobs away from American until my job required me to travel outside of my home state. The first time I saw the need for reform in my own eyes occurred in Atlanta, GA. Contractors from out of state (their license plates indicated they were from AZ, TX, or border state) would rent a number of rooms; open the back door for numerious illegals for dozens to sleep in the rooms. In the morning, the contractors raided the complimentary breakfast bar taking most of the food reserved for paying guest. On morning I noticed that the illegals who were wearing bright green t-shirts were working a road construction job that many Georgians would want. This is cheating hotels, inns, their customers, state and local government of taxes; but most of all it is cheating the people of Georgia who are looking for jobs. Needless to say, these illegal activities occurred and most hotels I went too; especially in Georgia and the Carolinas.

I have said this for years. If they can’t find a job or a place to live, they will go home on their own, unless they are into some kind of criminal activity. No amnesty should ever be given until we secure the borders and every American that wants a job could get a job. As for them doing some of the labor that Americans feel they are too good to do, in the areas such as agriculture let the people on welfare do the work or they don’t get paid.
I live around Columbus Ohio and almost every restaurant I go into, the kitchen staff are latinos. Most of the roofers and people who work on landscape seem to be foreigners. I’m sure there would be a lot of Americans that would take these jobs
As for bringing in foreigners to do the high tech jobs, I am sure we can find a lot of Americans that are qualified, but the government doesn’t work as hard to find these workers. They would rather bring in foreigners.
If we would bring down the tax rate on businesses even to zero if possible for any manufacturer to bring the jobs back to America, I think they would come back in droves. We need to make sure every American has a job before any illegal. I am not talking about any person who comes here the right way and accepts our American ways and values. And the first thing any person legal should learn our language before getting any citizenship papers.

The Republicans and the Democrats are both guilty of the borders, the illegal mess and amnesties. Reagan started with the first amnesty in 1986 to “fix” the 2-3 million illegal problem in the country. Then came Clinton who granted six more “rolling” amnesties in the 90’s (when Gingrich was House Speaker!). In Bush’s term, the Dems tried in 2006-07 to get another amnesty through Congress, but with the help and pressure of border groups and other great organizations, the bills in the House and Senate were defeated. Obama and his Dems tried to fulfill his promise to LaRaza and other open border activists by passing the Dream Act in 2011, but it was also defeated by the same dedicated and hard-working groups and organizations, and some legislators who were listening. With LaRaza’s former VP sitting at the right-hand of Obama and lobbying in the Oval Office and in Congress behind closed doors, Obama decided to work his amnesty through the backdoor of the White House. With his polls slipping, by golly, he needs all the legal and illegal votes he can muster!!! There is plenty of blame to go around, but most of the blame should be towards the millions of Americans that sit back and do nothing about this. If the legislators do not hear loud and clear from their constituents to clean this mess up NOW!, they will continue doing as they have always done….and how is that working for us??? Like I’ve proposed before, with Mexico being the largest voice in denigrating our immigration laws, perhaps the Mexican government would be more satisfied if the U.S. would enact immigration policies that mirror Mexico’s immigration laws. Their laws are so strict and rigid that they make our immigration laws look puny.
In Mexico, ANY Mexican citizen can make an arrest of a foreigner who is present in Mexico without proper documentation. You do NOT have to be an immigration enforcement officer or police officer to make the arrest.
In Mexico, if you are a foreigner visiting Mexico and get involved any ANY form of political demonstration, you are subject to instant arrest, detention and immediate deportation without appeal. You will be formally escorted, under guard, to the nearest port of entry and forcibly ejected from Mexican territory.
If you are a foreigner, you can’t own Mexican land or property, you can only “lease” property or land and it is restricted to only certain areas of the country.
You cannot participate in any way in Mexican politics if you are a foreigner. You cannot become a public officer (police, military, etc.)
If you’ve ever traveled, by land, to Mexico, you’ve undoubtedly been stopped at the 15 Km. inspection station where, if you don’t have the required visa, you are abruptly turned around and refused further travel into the interior.
These are just some of their laws involving immigration matters.
Me thinks that any Congressman working to impeach Obummer and his henchmen would soundly be reelected.

The 14th amendment does not have to be repealed. This is something that the illegal alien advocated would have you believe in order to make it sound difficult to stop giving citizenship to anchor babies. Fact is that the amendment was meant for the protection of newly freed slaves and their children because they were, in fact, under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Bestowing citizenship on any baby born within the borders of our nation was not the intent nor is it the proper reading of the text. The way to stop creating anchor babies is to just STOP giving them citizenship. Make it a federal law that reinforces the jurisdictional clause, so that states cannot continue to abuse the privileges of citizenship. And, another good idea would be to start arresting those mayors, governors, etc…… who blatantly violate federal law by establishing “sanctuaries” for illegal aliens. “We The People” have aired our grievences for years, much like the Foumders did. We have been scoffed at and rebuffed, much like the Foumders were. The only question remaining is how long the citizens of this country will allow the “ruling elite” to behave this way before there is a second revolution in our land.
