FAIR released a new mini-film this week to remind Americans that the same arguments in favor of amnesty were the centerpiece of the immigration reform enacted in 1986.
Watch as such familiar people as former U.S. Congressmen Leon Panetta (D-Cali.), Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and Dan Lungren (R-Cali.) argue that this one-time amnesty was necessary in order to fix our immigration problem and secure our borders.
Well, 27 years later here we are again with a bigger illegal immigration problem and we’re hearing that same old argument that amnesty needs to be the main driver to fix our “broken immigration system” and bring people “out of the shadows.”
Our footage also highlights the many courageous legislators who tried to warn us during the 1986 debate about the negative impact that amnesty would have in the future, and they certainly were right.

So as a result of The People not enforcing the Laws and being 100% complaint………we are losing our freedom little by little……………next the gov has to behave just like Russia and if somebody breaks the Law hiring an illegal might/will go to jail…………so you see………….such beautiful place we have had now it has partially a bit of the rigidness that Europe has when doing business regularly…………….eventually they will even know who will be in your house…………………
Definitely an excellent video that bring the facts of the last 1986 issues but unfortunately we are missing again who is at fault whom without this would have been a success us, We The People. You can put anybody in Congress as long as The People does not back up Congress……… recipe for failure………..we are not Russia where the gov governs by fear and their people obey…………….we are supposed to be FREEDOM and with it comes bigger responsibilities……………….and to make sure we can deliver those responsibilities, we have to have people that understand our reality & engage into results. This means we hold ourselves accountable for this but we do something about it instead on keep on blaming the gov. SO instead the message should be for The People to act, protect and take care of ourselves……………not happening…but hopefully somebody will do that in a constructive manner.

Can’t depot 12-20 million illegal aliens. How’s this for an idea? Make entering this country illegally a felony. Make the fine $2500 plus one year in Federal prison. Make this the same on overstayed VISAs. If drugs are involved, triple the fine. Then, apply this to all the illegal aliens in this country now. Leave or if you get caught, the fine will apply to them. Maybe, just maybe, this will take the place of a fence that is costly and doesn’t seem to work all that well. It may even cut down on the cost of deporting these illegal aliens. The other thing is this birthright citizenship. We MUST end it. E-Verify in EVERY business and check EVERY employee. End FREE medical care for illegal aliens. End schooling illegal alien children. They have NO RIGHT to be here. Yes, let’s start with these. We MUST know through Congress or the Supreme Court if indeed a child born to an illegal alien is a U.S. citizen. I say they are not. If not, then, how do we REVOKE the birth certificates already issued. Boy, can you see the problems with this illegal immigration?
Good ole lying Chuck Schumer. Of course, Chuck is now owned lock stock and barrel by the tech companies, as he is one of the biggest recipients of their campaign cash. And no coincidence, he’s one of the biggest proponents of more visas for the tech companies. And though he’s not here, Ted Kennedy said back then that he promised that the 1986 amnesty would be a one time affair.

Dan Stein you missed a whole point!…..the country we live in………….The People failed in the last 25 years….The People never enforced it and were complaint 100%…and as a consequence supported the gov and Ronald Reagan and the congress…….how come you hold no accountability. I think what will make this happen again is not congress but The People that is where all should start………………………….that is the center of gravity of this issue and major flaw…..
