Tomorrow afternoon—Wednesday, July 10—House Republicans will hold a special conference to debate immigration policy and whether they will support any or all of the provisions of S.744, the Senate amnesty bill. This is your chance to make a difference! Call House Leadership NOW and tell them you want TRUE immigration reform, not amnesty.
Click here to call now and use the talking points included to help you make your call.
Less than two weeks ago, the Senate passed S.744, the biggest amnesty bill in the history of the United States. The “Gang of Eight” bill, not only grants amnesty to the 12 million illegal aliens currently in the United States, it (1) doubles legal immigration in only 10 years, and (2) increases the number of guest workers by at least 50%! And, tucked into the bill’s 1,200 pages are special kickbacks for Senators catering to big business interests.
This is NOT immigration reform. However, we can still stop this special-interest legislation in the House!
Will you call House leaders NOW? Urge them to reject the Senate amnesty bill and adopt TRUE Immigration Reform!
When you call these House leaders, tell them:
• Amnesty is NOT immigration reform!
Amnesty undermines the rule of law, encourages more illegal immigration, and is inherently unfair to individuals around the world who are patiently waiting in line – often for years – to legally immigrate to the United States!
• You oppose increasing legal immigration.
The United States cannot even absorb the current level of legal immigration, which adds roughly 1.1 million workers (the equivalent of the city of Dallas) to the U.S. labor market each and every year. At this level, the United States economy must create at least 150,000 jobs EVERY MONTH, just to keep up with the addition of immigrant workers.
• The U.S. DOES NOT NEED more guest workers!
Approximately 22 million Americans are currently unemployed or underemployed, both in high-skilled and low-skilled fields. Guest workers take job opportunities from American workers, discourage Americans from entering certain fields, and depress wages. Immigration policy should prioritize American workers first.
• We need to enforce the laws already in place!
Immigration reform means securing our borders and robustly enforcing our immigration laws across the country. This means preventing illegal border crossings, stopping visa overstays, and enforcing immigration laws across the country. It also means ending the Obama Administration’s blatant dismissal of federal law and reversing its “prosecutorial discretion” policies.
• Strong, Mandatory E-Verify policies are needed.
E-Verify must be MANDATORY, without exception and without watering down the program or penalties to appease big business. In addition, workplace enforcement policies must punish both employers and illegal workers to create deterrence on both ends.
• There should be zero tolerance for sanctuary policies.
There should be zero tolerance for states and local governments who encourage illegal immigration through sanctuary policies, especially through laws policies that restrict the ability of state and local law enforcement agencies to transfer custody of illegal aliens to federal agents.
• Congress should protect U.S. Taxpayers.
American taxpayers should NOT be forced to subsidize illegal immigration through benefits, tax credits and other programs designed to help struggling American families.
House Republicans will meet in less than 48 hours, so there is no time to waste!

Let’s hope that enough of our representatives will actually look out for the best interests of the citizens of the United States rather than those of citizens of foreign countries and of course those of the greedy people who finance their campaigns.
We cannot trust any more. No more promises. Enforcement up front, in place, and guaranteed. If that’s a deal breaker, so be it. It’s what we were told would happen and now it’s some radical idea? Yes, we have a “broken system”, but it’s because of broken PROMISES of enforcement, time after time.
Leland……….you still do not get it………?…enforcement = The People
LOL John
The People control enforcement of our immigration laws?
How about our organised crime foreign corporate slavelords ignore our immigration laws and pick our open border bribed candidates out for us….what’s the voters got to do with that?
Leland, it’s just that simple and you are so right!
