GOP Senators Want DHS Nominee on Record on Immigration
“Six key Senate Republicans are demanding more information about Department of Homeland Security nominee Jeh Johnson and his views on immigration, arguing that they need to know more before they confirm him. The letter from six Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans outlines 29 questions — many of them with multiple parts — asking for Johnson’s perspectives on a wide array of immigration issues,” Politico reports.
“President Barack Obama’s nominee to lead DHS is a former lawyer for the Pentagon, and his views on immigration are little known. At his confirmation hearing last week, Johnson said he backs “common-sense immigration reform” which would include a ‘clear path to earned citizenship’ for undocumented immigrants, but the GOP senators are clearly eager to know more.”
Poor Refugee Screening May Have Let in Terrorists
“Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees, according to FBI agents investigating the remnants of roadside bombs recovered from Iraq and Afghanistan,” ABC News reports.
“The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky — who later admitted in court that they’d attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq — prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists’ fingerprints.”
Guilty Pleas in Illegal Hiring Case in Phoenix
“A criminal case against a metro Phoenix car-wash chain accused of immigration fraud in its hiring practices has resulted in guilty pleas for half of the people arrested in a huge summertime raid, and more cases could be resolved in the coming weeks. So far, seven of the 14 Danny’s Family Car Wash managers charged as part of an investigation into the hiring of workers who were in the country illegally have pleaded guilty to a federal conspiracy charge. Location manager Humberto Dominguez pleaded guilty Monday,” KTAR.com reports.

Now Immigration Law Enforcement Needs a Pro-active Leader
The GOP didn’t flinch like this when pro-amnesty Janet was at the DHS helm.
By all means, grill this person. We have enough pro-amnesty traitors in Washington. Of course, it probably won’t keep him from lying about his true feeings. He’s surrounded by the masters of prevarication.
The problem with our “refugee” programs is that they become an end unto themselves. We set a certain number to be taken in every year and then come hell or high water that goal must be met. And little actual checking is done. Look at the Boston bombers and the network of other people here who supported them.
Not to mention these people end up on government assistance at extremely high rates. It’s time we start resettling these people in other countries nearer to their home countries. It’s a brutal world but we cannot make up for people who insist on fighting each other over thousand year old grudges.
