White House Releases New Policing Recommendations

Immediate Termination of all State and Local Immigration Enforcement Urged

mansion-160425_640Today, the White House released The President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing in response to demands from special interest communities and recent events such as Ferguson and Baltimore.  The 116-page report details sweeping new policies that the task force believes will result in greater trust between police and the communities in which they serve.

One section of the report focuses on how state and local law enforcement should deal with “immigrant” communities. It should be noted, nowhere is a distinction made between an illegal and legal immigrant. Two areas stand out:

Section 1.9 encourages law enforcement to, “build relationships based on trust with immigrant communities,” and that, “whenever possible, state and local law enforcement should not be involved in immigration enforcement.”  Their argument is that immigrants are hesitant to share information with police if they fear deportation. In reality, legal immigrants have nothing to fear and neither do illegal immigrants.  Police already have the discretion to provide immunity for crime witnesses who may be illegal aliens and they routinely exercise it.  (We know of no instance in which an illegal alien provided vital information about a serious crime and was deported.) After all, if illegal aliens were afraid of being deported, why do they protest in the street, walk the halls of Congress, and hold up signs reading “Undocumented and Unafraid? enfThis “fear” is purely a concoction of the advocacy network.

Another section, 1.9.1, recommends “decoupling federal immigration enforcement from routine local policing for civil enforcement and non-serious crime.” It urges DHS to “terminate the use of the state and local criminal justice system including detention, notification and transfer requests” (meaning abolishing detainer holds entirely).

The report then repeats the assertion of the Major Cities Chiefs Association that, “immigration is a federal policy between the U.S. government and other countries, not local or state entities.” This conveniently punts the responsibility of immigration enforcement to the federal government.

And that’s the rub because at the federal level, the Obama administration has systematically gutted most interior and perimeter responsibility. This administration won’t enforce the laws nationally and won’t tolerate it locally.

Ultimately, enforcement is supposed to happen at one level or the other – ideally at both levels (concurrent authority) – yet if the recommendations of the task force were put in place and no state and local enforcement or information sharing was permitted, all remaining vestiges of immigration controls would cease to exist in the U.S.

If the intended purpose of the president’s task force was to build trust between police and communities it fails miserably because one important community is overlooked; American citizens who expect laws to be upheld and enforced.  Recommending that local and state law enforcement surrender their authority to assist in enforcement further erodes the trust of citizens.  It also reveals the more likely purpose of this administration and the task force’s report: further whittling away of meaningful U.S. immigration controls.

Once you start ignoring one law, it brings all others into question. Laws found to be convient will be obeyed and all others ignored means you get to pick and choose according to the situation which exists today. Anarchy.

Having an actual opposition party in congress would be very helpful in solving our nation’s problem with illegal immigration. Unfortunately, we don’t.

All illegals should be treated like criminals because that is what they are.

Expect huge backlash in 2016 pres. election. All we need is an honest candidate that won’t betray US citizens. Thank treasonous barry and moochelle for motivating us.

Treat illegals as foreign invaders and eliminate them with any means available. All veterans are taught to treat invaders as a threat and have sworn to defend against them. It s illegal for the dictator to change any laws of this country only congress can do that. It does not even matter what the supreme court says. They cannot make laws.

What’s the one of the main problem in America today? “This administration won’t enforce the laws nationally and won’t tolerate it locally”. BINGO. I don’t dislike immigrants or illegal aliens, but there needs 2 B some control. I don’t blame anyone coming 2 America 4 a chance at a better life. It’s gotta B downright scary 2 leave family & friends & go someplace new with no job or house waiting 4 U. Those R brave people leaving a corrupt government 2 come 2 a country with… Well currently a corrupt government, but hopefully it’ll get better next election. But once U see what our current corrupt president is allowed 2 do – I don’t trust the government now. I grew up loving America. Patriotic 2 my core, but one single man & his wife have absolutely ruined the United States of America. Praying, hoping & voting 2 get our America back on track. Sure do miss the good old days. Yes, I know previous Presidents had many faults & even did a few illegal acts, but No One & Nothing (except ISIS) compares 2 the outright hatred our current pres has 4 this country. I must stop my rant or I’ll start giving examples 2 back up my claims. Which isn’t necessary if you’ve been paying attention.

Citizens are faced with crimes from many of these illegals. The first duty of a President is to protect citizens.

I hope the families of victims of illegal alien criminals will find a way to sue those in the White House.

Obama now has two sets of laws, one set for citizens to obey while another for non-citizens!

    I view this as treason!

I view it the same way! TREASON. OBAMA needs 2 B impeached, then jailed 4 his crimes against America. Then his Mrs can visit him in jail, making sure he only gets the one 8 oz. soda- whatever her limit was. Only issue is, I don’t want my hard earned tax dollars paying 2 house him!

A big lawsuit seems to be the only way to get anything done now, since Congress wimps out. Problem is, it takes too long to work its way thru the courts. Meantime, you can count on the WH to slip everything they can in before he’s out of office. Like they did in the NDAA, for illegals to get into the military and the TPA so he can increase visa numbers for foreign workers. Yeah, he a treasonous SOB all right.

Perhaps FAIR could start a website for victims of crime from illegals so a class action suit could be formulated.

It’s all wrapped up in this one sentence: “This administration won’t enforce the laws nationally and won’t tolerate it locally”. Which is why amnesty aka “reform” is the worst of all possible worlds. No enforcement of immigration law added to the fact that we will all but put out a sign that says just get here and eventually we will make you a citizen.
