The law strengthens North Carolina’s immigration policies by adding public contractors to the list of employers required by law to verify the work authorization of new employees with the internet-based E-Verify program, prohibiting “sanctuary” policies that impede the enforcement of immigration law, and cracking down on identity fraud.
