A few weeks ago, Donald Trump became the first major party presidential contender to deliver a detailed address about immigration policy. For many in the media, the speech was lacking because it did not address their biggest question: the matter of what to do about millions of illegal aliens living in the U.S.
In an op-ed published in the political journal, The Hill, I suggest that true immigration reform must address the American people’s biggest question: How do make immigration policy serve the national interest?
The full op-ed can be read here.

Vote 4 Trump
I am SOOOO feed up with going into public Anywhere nowadays and at least 1/3 of the people around you are speaking gibberish! WTF? When immigration was monitored by someone (way back) it was a prerequisite to speak English.
Where are the people that are PAID by our tax dollars to monitor this?
And where is our place to teach their children english in special classrooms again with OUR tax dollars?
I say again WTF?
TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION is against our Constitutional laws. So how are our taxes representing US when we are giving millions to feed, house, medicate, educate, and give welfare to millions of illegals? They have more welfare and benefits than our Veterans. Now they can get drivers licence and vote! THAT MAKES NO SENSE!
WHEN WILL ‘COMMON SENSE’ GET BACK TO OUR LAWS?
This administration has put us in so much debt. We just can’t be giving everything away for free!Helping is one thing but giving it away for free when taxpayers have to foot the bill! They are struggling now to make ends meet. Let all the politicians take care of their giveaways. After all they are getting paid with our money.
According to liberals we are obligated to become the charity ward of the entire world. Liberals spin enchanting tales of “when your great grandparents came here”. My family came here 3 to 5 generations ago and raised their large families on their own, because there was no going to the government for welfare. It took real guts to cross the ocean and make a living with your bare hands. We attracted the gogetters. Now we attract the welfare dependent.
As usual, the media let Hillary get away with two total falsehoods in the debate. When Trump pointed out that she had repeatedly called the 12 nation TPP “free trade” deal the “gold standard” of trade deals, she claimed “I did say I hoped it would be a good deal”. A total lie. She is on record over and over calling it, unequivocally, “the gold standard”.
The only time she expressed anything but outright support was this year when Bernie forced her into it. The Korea trade deal passed in 2012 with her approval has tripled our trade deficits with them. It’s always the same promises, that they will “open their markets” to our goods and it never happens.
She also made the preposterous claim that the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy caused the great recession beginning in 2008. There is not one economist who agrees with that. The biggest factor was the housing collapse caused by handing out mortgages to people who never should have gotten them. There were people working at Walmart getting three hundred thousand dollar mortgages.
And in her never ending parade of promises of goodies for everyone, now she says that any kid from a family earning less than a hundred thousand will get a free college education. Great. Now we can all pay for those degrees in 18th century Chinese art and they end up serving coffee at Starbucks. Ain’t America great?
Great TV Ad for Real Immigration Reform
