5 Years of Lawlessness

Five years ago today, President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security began accepting and approving applications for the unconstitutional Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program. In a brazen move to sure up his anti-borders base during his reelection campaign, President Obama bypassed Congress and ignored the will of the American people by unilaterally implementing DACA on August 15, 2012. In addition to violating the U.S. Constitution, DACA also conflicts with numerous federal laws by granting reprieve from deportation and work authorization to certain illegal aliens for renewable two years terms.

In addition to the many legal and constitutional issues DACA poses, the program has been extremely successful at sending the message to the world that the U.S. government does not intend to enforce its own immigration laws, especially amongst young people. DACA reinforces the notion that if illegal aliens avoid law enforcement long enough, eventually the U.S. government will allow them to stay. Most notably, DACA caused the recent years’ humanitarian crisis along the southern border with the unprecedented surge of Central American illegal alien minors and family units. This crisis has resulted in increased illegal immigration and human trafficking, in addition to an overall mockery of our immigration system and outrageous expenses for taxpayers to front.

Did you know that notwithstanding the Obama Administration’s marketing of DACA as a program to help “children,” the majority of DACA recipients are in their 20s and 30s, taking jobs away from younger Americans. In fact, DACA recipients could be as old as 35 today. To date, over 800,000 illegal aliens have benefited from this unconstitutional amnesty program.
