{"id":16563,"date":"2018-03-02T10:18:00","date_gmt":"2018-03-02T15:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/live-immigrationreform.pantheonsite.io\/?p=16563"},"modified":"2018-12-28T10:49:25","modified_gmt":"2018-12-28T15:49:25","slug":"oakland-mayor-defiant-tip-off-let-800-illegals-avoid-arrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.immigrationreform.com\/2018\/03\/02\/oakland-mayor-defiant-tip-off-let-800-illegals-avoid-arrest\/","title":{"rendered":"Oakland Mayor Defiant After Tip-Off let 800 Illegals Avoid Arrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Thomas Homan, the acting Director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), says a warning from Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf about a surprise ICE operation resulted in hundreds of \u201ccriminals\u201d avoiding arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cShe gave them warning, and there\u2019s 800 that we were unable to locate because of that warning, so that community\u2019s a lot less safe than it would have been,\u201d Homan said on Fox News. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Schaaf over the weekend issued a statement on Twitter that she learned from \u201cmultiple credible sources\u201d that ICE was about to conduct an operation targeting illegal aliens in the San Francisco area, including Oakland. <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OJ9oYbTN3s\">pic.twitter.com\/OJ9oYbTN3s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Libby Schaaf (@LibbySchaaf) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LibbySchaaf\/status\/967621285890191361?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 25, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Homan likened Schaaf\u2019s tip-off to a \u201cgang lookout\u201d and says the Justice Department is looking into whether or not she obstructed justice.
