An illegal alien from Mexico was charged with murder after allegedly killing a man last week on a fishing vessel near the coast of Massachusetts. He had already been arrested earlier in the year and was previously a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient.

According to The Boston Globe, Franklin “Freddy” Meave Vazquez attacked several of his crewmates with a hammer and a knife. He climbed the boat’s mast as his crewmates attempted to stop him. One person was killed, and two others were injured. The boat’s captain sent out a mayday call for help, which was answered by a German cruise ship.

“We have a man gone crazy here on the boat, man. . . . One of the crew members went crazy. He started hitting people in the head with a hammer,” the boat’s captain reportedly said over the radio. “I got three men that’s injured right now. One, I can’t wake him up. I don’t know if he’s dead or not.”

This isn’t Vazquez’s first act of violence. He was previously arrested in Virginia earlier this year for attempting to abduct and strangle his wife. She tried to call 911 and her family, but he took her phone and wouldn’t allow her to escape. He was placed in Norfolk City Jail but was released on a $20,000 bond. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took him into custody after he was released from jail but were forced to release him a few weeks later after “an immigration judge granted (Meave Vazquez) bond,” according to CNN.

Fox News reported that Vazquez gained DACA status in late 2013, but he was denied renewal into the program in 2016. His rejection stemmed from “abandonment, meaning he may have failed to respond to an information request or never showed up for a required appearance.” In any case, he should not have been in the United States in the first place.

It appears as if another person has lost his life because an illegal alien was protected from the law. The federal government allowed Vazquez to remain in the United States for almost three years through “deferred action,” and then a judge set him free after he attacked his wife. Kate Steinle and Mollie Tibbetts may be two of the most famous cases involving illegal aliens murdering innocent Americans, but the fact of the matter is that many families across the country are suffering because violent illegal aliens are allowed to roam the streets.
