A RedState.com blog<\/a> effectively takes the ethnic advocacy network\u2019s opposition to eliminating the so-called Visa Lottery to task, calling their arguments \u201cequal parts stupid and noxious.\u201d In particular, they cite a statement by Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) asserting that our immigration policy has no business picking and choosing immigrants based on any objective assessment of which ones are most likely to benefit our nation.<\/p>\n For the record, FAIR strongly supports elimination of the Visa Lottery but opposes the STEM Jobs Act cited in the RedState blog for very different reasons<\/a> than Rep. Gutierrez.
