A recent incident in Massachusetts suggests that Brazil isn\u2019t sending their brightest.<br><br>Rosiane Santos, a 41-year-old Brazilian national, was <a href=\"https:\/\/boston.cbslocal.com\/2019\/02\/26\/president-trump-make-america-great-again-hat-confrontation-rosiane-santos-ice\/\">arrested<\/a> at a Mexican restaurant and charged with assault and disorderly conduct after repeatedly grabbing a \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d hat from a fellow diner. <br><br>As cops were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonherald.com\/2019\/02\/26\/howie-carr-falmouth-maga-hat-showdown-ends-with-ice-arrest\/\">removing Santos<\/a>, she again lunged at the customer, hitting him. When they arrived at the police station, Santos refused to get out of the police car and yelled, \u201cWhat are you going to do if I don\u2019t?\u201d<br><br>Having called attention to herself, Santos was subsequently detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which had determined she was in the U.S. illegally.<br><br>Santos\u2019s attorney, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masslive.com\/capecod\/2019\/02\/rosiane-santos-woman-who-was-arrested-after-allegedly-knocking-off-a-mans-maga-hat-at-cape-cod-restaurant-is-released-from-ice-custody.html\">Katarina Kozakova<\/a>, said\u00a0her client has a pending green card application and is married to a U.S. citizen.<br><br>Now, instead of getting her green card from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Santos has been ordered to appear before an immigration judge for removal proceedings. <br><br>It\u2019s not necessarily a slam dunk. ICE released Santos from custody and with police <g class=\"gr_ gr_18 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"18\" data-gr-id=\"18\">reporting<\/g> they had trouble removing Santos from the Cape Cod restaurant, what are the odds the feisty illegal alien will actually show up for court?<br><br>U.S. immigration courts have the highest failure-to-appear rates of any courts in the country. Over the last 20 years, 37 percent of all aliens free pending trial failed to appear for their hearings, according to data compiled by <a href=\"https:\/\/cis.org\/Report\/Courting-Disaster\">Mark Metcalf<\/a>, a former immigration court judge.\u00a0<br><br>\u201cNearly 46,000 people each year disappeared,\u201d Metcalf said. Any bets on Ms. Santos?<br><br>Still battling and unbowed, the Brazilian justified her MAGA-fueled outburst: \u201cI had a little bit to drink. Maybe that\u2019s the reason that I couldn\u2019t walk away, but being discriminated for so many times in my life, I just had to stand up for my life.\u201d<br><br>\u201cI am the victim.
