103,492 people apprehended<\/a> last month while crossing illegally \u00a0from Mexico (many of whom are making bogus claims for political asylum), is resulting in long delays for legitimate travelers at ports entry, impeding commerce, and straining the lives of American citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\nWhile we haven\u2019t done any polling, it is a pretty safe bet that the percentage of Americans who want long lines, interrupted commerce, and strain on the lives of border residents is zero (with a margin of error of +\/- 0%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the DNC is interested in addressing these problems, other\nthan for the purpose of putting out press releases criticizing the vice\npresident, perhaps the Democratic leadership in Congress can roll up their\nsleeves and work on\u2026actual solutions. You know, things like preventing people\nfrom abusing our asylum laws, adding more detention space, increasing the\nnumber of asylum adjudicators, legislatively overriding the ruling of a single\nfederal judge who declared children \u201cget out of jail free cards\u201d for illegal\nborder-crossers, or treating unaccompanied minors as trafficking victims even\nwhen they clearly are not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
