Last week \u2013 late on the Friday afternoon before Christmas, when no one is paying attention \u2013 the Obama administration announced that it would no longer take custody of deportable aliens who have been arrested by local police for what the administration considers \u201cminor\u201d offenses. In an appearance on Fox News, I point out that (if it wasn\u2019t already clear to everyone) any legislation that trades amnesty for future enforcement will not be worth the paper it\u2019s printed on. The president will simply ignore new immigration enforcement laws, just as he is ignoring the ones we already have.<\/p>\n
