U.S. Customs and Border Protection\n(CBP) data showed<\/a> that\nMarch had a whopping 172,231 apprehensions at the Southwest border \u2013 the\nhighest monthly total for that month since Fiscal Year 2000<\/a>.\nAccording to preliminary data obtained<\/a> by TheBlaze<\/em>, CBP agents arrested 177,431 illegal\naliens at the southern border in April. As FAIR has noted<\/a>, the\ncooler months tend to yield fewer illegal border crossings. However, President\nJoe Biden\u2019s immigration policies<\/a> have\nattracted countless foreign nationals to flood the southern border at\nunprecedented levels during typically \u201cslower\u201d months of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Furthermore, the administration\u2019s decision to stop further construction of the border wall, combined with inadequate numbers of border agents, has complicated efforts<\/a> to minimize the number of \u201cgot-aways\u201d or unlawful migrants detected by authorities who evade capture. An estimated 1,000 migrants escape from border agents each day, many of whom have criminal backgrounds<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Several border localities in the United States have already declared a state of emergency due to the scores of illegal aliens overwhelming their communities, which the president has yet to address<\/a>.
