{"id":3701,"date":"2013-06-05T14:21:52","date_gmt":"2013-06-05T18:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/live-immigrationreform.pantheonsite.io\/?p=3701"},"modified":"2018-12-28T15:58:15","modified_gmt":"2018-12-28T20:58:15","slug":"senators-cruz-grassley-sessions-lee-voice-opposition-to-gang-of-eight-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.immigrationreform.com\/2013\/06\/05\/senators-cruz-grassley-sessions-lee-voice-opposition-to-gang-of-eight-bill\/","title":{"rendered":"Senators Cruz, Grassley, Sessions &#038; Lee Voice Opposition to Gang of Eight Bill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Concerned that S.744 repeats many of the same mistakes as the 1986 amnesty bill in addition to <a href=\"http:\/\/fairus.org\/legislation\/amnesty\/broken_promises\">breaking numerous promises<\/a> to the American people, Senators Ted Cruz, (R-TX), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Mike Lee (R-UT) sent a &#8220;Dear Colleague&#8221; letter to their fellow members of the U.S. Senate outlining their opposition to the bill:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Americans expect their government to end the lawlessness, not surrender to it. They deserve immigration reform with actual border security, enforcement of the laws on the books, and a legal immigration system that works.
