“Still, Chavarria has to hop on buses to meet clients throughout Phoenix because Arizona won’t give her a driver’s license. The state considers her to be in the country illegally, even though she recently obtained a two-year reprieve from deportation under the Obama administration’s deferred action program.”<\/p>\n

California Gov. Faces Decision on Bill to Protect Illegal Alien Criminals<\/p>\n

“If Gov. Jerry Brown signs legislation known as the Trust Act, federal immigration authorities will have a somewhat harder time taking custody of people in local jails who are suspected of being in the country illegally,” the LA Times writes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The measure, which would prohibit local jailers from holding most arrestees for an additional 48 hours before federal authorities arrive, is not expected to put a large dent in the number of deportations.”<\/p>\n

What the White House Got Wrong on Amnesty<\/p>\n

“Could the Senate-passed bill on immigration reform decrease the deficit and pad your pocketbook, all while granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants? The answer is no, according to Heritage\u2019s Derrick Morgan, vice president of Domestic and Economic Policy. ‘This is going to increase the deficit,’ Morgan said on Fox Business in response to the White House\u2019s claims on the benefits of immigration reform,” the Heritage Foundation<\/a> says on its blog.
