Obama Heckled by Illegal Alien at S.F. Speech

“When organizers placed Ju Hong in a prominent position flanking President Barack Obama on Monday, they probably did not realize they were handing a high-profile lectern to one of the Bay Area’s gutsiest immigration reform activists. Emboldened by a growing immigrant youth movement and irritated by years of fruitless political talk, Hong has never been one to sit as a smiling backdrop,” the San Jose Mercury News writes.

“Hong was one of six protesters arrested in August for interrupting the UC Board of Regents as it approved former Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano as the new UC president. Hong’s message there was similar. He derided Napolitano as the chief enforcer of policies that have deported nearly 2 million people during the Obama presidency.”

More Flawed Polls by Amnesty Lobby

“Monday’s New York Times contribution to the amnesty cause was a story purporting to show that a “consistent and solid majority of Americans” favor amnesty with a path to citizenship. As usual, both the story and the polling it’s based on are skewed. There’s no doubt that a significant number of people would favor amnesty as a means of clearing the decks, but only if the illegal immigrants applying for amnesty are held to high standards and only if people are confident the government won’t allow the settlement of another 12 million illegals in the future,” says CIS Executive Director Mark Krikorian at National Review.

Amnesty Lobby Tries Last Ditch Pitch for Bill This Year

“[Amnesty] forces’ last-ditch pitch for action before the end of the year: individual political self-interest.

They’ve tried appeals to presidential politics, economic and tax calculations, rational argument, Christian and moral values, humanity, the American spirit. They’ve pushed the idea of giving Washington something positive to show for 2013. As President Barack Obama noted Monday in San Francisco, there’s even a group of people camping out on the Mall in a fasting protest that Vice President Joe Biden visited Monday,”
says Politico.

“Those pushing for fast action on reform argue that failing to back immigration reform — and allowing the issue to bleed into 2014, and therefore probably into 2015 and beyond — could serve as a disqualifying factor for House Republicans in races for governor or senator or even attorney general and other statewide positions. That, they believe, is the way through a stalemate they blame in large part on gerrymandered, insulated House districts.”

Rock Throwing Crowd Confronts Border Patrol at San Diego

“A group of about 100 people trying to illegally cross the border Sunday near the San Ysidro port of entry threw rocks and bottles at U.S. Border Patrol agents, who responded by using pepper spray and other means to force the crowd back into Mexico, federal officials said. The incident has raised concerns among advocates on both sides of the immigration debate, as well as Border Patrol representatives,” UTSandiego.com says.

“Border-security groups see this situation as evidence that the border remains unsecured, something they said should be fixed before Congress considers proposals to grant legal status to unauthorized immigrants. And Border Patrol representatives worry that Sunday’s confrontation could be a political protest, which they said agents want to avoid — especially when it involves the potential for loss of life.”

Obama’s Administrative Amnesty Harms Legal Immigrants

“Relatives of U.S. citizens applying to immigrate to the United States legally are suffering unprecedented, year-long delays in waiting for their applications to be processed, as President Barack Obama smooths the path for illegal immigrants.

In a response to complaints, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said last week that it has improved wait times from 13 months, now processing applications filed in February,”
Breitbart News says.
