Canada\u2019s Calgary Herald reported on December 9 that the government was \u201c\u2026set to crack down on 4,700 more people believed to have obtained citizenship or permanent resident<\/a> status illegally.\u201d This action follows by 6 months a revocation of citizenship or legal residence for 1,800 aliens who had also obtained legal status through fraud.<\/p>\n

Hardly a week goes by without reading in the U.S. press about some fraud scheme by which aliens have gained legal status. These cases lead to the prosecution of the persons who enabled the fraud \u2013 often immigration lawyers. But, when was the last time you read about the U.S. government revoking citizenship or legal status and deporting the cheats? Perhaps DHS does apply the law to the beneficiaries of immigration fraud and just doesn\u2019t publicize the fact so as not to upset the illegal alien population.
